We get asked a lot of things here at Frenchic Furniture Paint, so we’ve put together a list of the most frequently asked questions and our answers.

Q: How Long Should I Leave The Paint To Dry Before Waxing Or Applying Frenchic Finishing Coat?
A: After painting, leave your furniture to dry for at least 30 minutes. In some cases it may take up to 2 hours, depending on the weather/temperature of the room.
Q: How Long Does The Wax Or Finishing Coat Take To Dry?
A: In most situations, the wax will dry in 30-45 minutes but on some furniture, it may take a couple of days to fully dry. Our Finishing Coat will be touch dry in 15-30 minutes, however, for best results 2-3 coats is needed. It is best to re-wax or add more Finishing Coat every 12 months.
Q: What Is The Best Way To Prepare My Furniture Before Painting?
A: The surface should be thoroughly cleaned with sugar soap, dried, grease-free and free of penetrating substances. A light sanding before painting is also recommended, however, it isn’t always necessary, depending on the wood that is being painted.
Q: The Paint Is Quite Thick And Rich, Can I Thin It?
A: We suggest using it ‘as is’, however, it can be thinned using water but it is best to pour the paint into another container and then add water to not contaminate the entire tin of paint with the water.
Q: How Do I Apply FrenSheen?
A: FrenSheen is best applied by mixing with Frenchic Finishing Coat or our wax. After applying FrenSheen, it is best not to wax or put finishing coat on over it, as it may dull the effect. For more on this product, see individual colours in our shop.

Q: Is Frenchic Furniture Paint Safe To Use On Children's Furniture Or Toys?
A: Absolutely. Frenchic Furniture Paint has been certified as being safe to use on children’s furniture and toys as per EN71:3
